My three-year-old niece has a physical skill that many adults envy. She knows how to get down. That is, she can drop to the ground, roll over, and then spring to her feet with the same effort that most adults take for a mere breath. I mean, she doesn’t just get down, she [...]

Survival of the Fittest and Personal Fitness
Read time: 1 minute
Fitness in its truest definition is relevant to the macro-environment — how to survive it as a species. Fitness, in this sense, is no longer about having the physical capacity to fight off a saber tooth tiger, to hunt down a bison, or to pillage whole villages. The era of the gladiators [...]

My Diet and Exercise

Friends have asked what I do to maintain ~5% body fat. The fact that my body fat level is consistent pretty much through the year, what I do to maintain it (and my health) must be simple and sustainable, and not interfere with life. Here I share a picture taken of me not too long ago, [...]

Is Walking Really Beneath Us?
Read Time: 2.5 minutes
Our ancestors of the cave and the plains didn’t have Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, and they didn’t have refrigerators that held a week’s worth of grocery. So many of them walked nearly every day to forage for food, pick wild berries and gather edible plants and hunt wild animals. They didn’t [...]
